Went to the exam hall...a herculean task in itself (coz you never know...when your heart is going to jump out of your mouth!)...all these exams...They are just worst nightmares for Engineering students like me...They have to complete the whole syllabus by the night..coz they sit for serious study only then..and remember it all till the next morning..with the constant fear of forgetting it all the very next minute..and then manage to recall it anyhow..so that you can pass in your exam..
coming back..to my experience of today's paper..well this happens to be my first blog..so I just couldn’t think of anything more interesting to write on..
ya..again coming back..!..i went to the examination hall..with a heart beating several times its normal speed..n it almost broke the cage..meant to keep it in one place..when I saw a very dreaded sight..
Today's invigilator was..AMBUJ..a very vigilant invigilator and a compulsive stalker..!
he gave us the answer scripts in a very peculiar fashion..to the girls first..n then made us wait 15 long minutes..before handing over the scripts..
then came the question paper..with racing heart and a great effort..I took it from his hand..read it..n then hung my head on my hands..wished..wouldn't have slept for that one hour in the night..:(
the language of the paper seemed to be alien..
what the hell is MUX, Xcess 3 series., BCD..bhah..
didn’t knew what to write..what to solve..supple seemed certain..
turned back..to see my friends face..BLANK..
so with all the other faces around.. totally BLANK ..except for one mugger..she just started to empty her pen's ink and the trees of the world(paper :P) the very moment question paper was handed over to her..by the time i started to write my first letters on the answer scripts..she had already finished two sides of a page..what a disgusting race of human species..I mean how can anybody mug up everything and pour it out the next day..n be among the toppers of the class..
well none the less..I tried..again..for the fifth time..to DECIPHER that alien language once again..
I guess..this time some alien was helping me out to understand those tricky words..n finally I solved a question in one hour..for 8 marks..out of 70...and then I was sure of my second supple in the this Fifth semester..but suddenly after solving one question..paper didn’t seem that alien at all..I could understand most of the words and could get a rough idea on how to solve them..(to be noted..a rough idea..that’s it!)
I then saw my other classmate..sitting in front of me copying a 14 marks question..that was it..I wanted to write the same thing on my script too..and I started to struggle for getting glimpses of his answer..but it was a bit difficult..with that Ambuj..
Finally my friend sensed that I was trying to copy from him..and he was more than glad to help me...
Well..simultaneously Ambuj also sensed that I was trying to copy..n he was not at all happy about this..unlike my friend..n gave me a stern look..n a warning..then he came n stood beside me(was he stinking?..suddenly why such stench burning my nostrils?)..well..one more thing I forgot to mention was..that I went very early to my exam hall..to write some clues over the desk..!!..coming back...he was standing beside me n looking at my paper..n suddenly he says.."What is all this..?" My ears suddenly rose and my heart sensed..that something bad was going to happen..I turned and looked into his eyes (confidently!)..and said " What sir?"..he said "It’s your electronics paper right?"..to this replied.. "no sir, this is digital and pulse circuits paper.."
He said "what's this written on your desk..?"..before I could utter a word.."This is my last warning to you. If I find you doing something, I will chase you out of the hall."..I said in my mind.."There are many things I can do right now..answer my questions, kick the one sitting in front of me, yawn loudly(remember..I didn’t had much of the sleep in the night..!?)..what exactly you talking about?"..but I chose not to speak..and continued writing..
Finally 2 more hours passed..I could finally solve for considerable marks in the paper..of course with some help from my friends..n in the end..that..bloody stalker..didn’t snatch my copy in the end..like he did with other..instead..he let me write for some extra time..maybe he is not that bloody after all.. :P
Came out of my examination hall(a.k.a. HELL)..n took a sigh of relief..next exam is after three days..I have ample time to sleep now..its been like almost continuous five nights since I have slept properly..now I can sleep like a log..! asked my classmates about how there paper went..they were almost like..not that good..or so so sort of..but then I guess I was still happy that I could do good in spite of the kind of preparation I had..!
Walked down to the food joint to have something to fill my stomach..which was regularly reminding me of its emptiness since early morning..and to meet my friends of other streams as well..and do the trade mark "AAEEEE....SAJANIYAA....!!..HUM AA GAYE RE...!"(hey loved one..I have come)..well it my not sound funny if you simply read it..but with that specific tone and body gesture..you can make people roll on the ground..roaring with laughter..!
Then some one there asked me how was your exam..i replied.."it went well..but it will be coming back soon.."..he seemed pretty puzzled by my this reply..then he interpreted it and said.."why soon..?..next exams will be in the end of next semester.."..i gave a sigh..thinking.."what a poor fellow..couldnt understand this simple statement.."..before i could expalin the real sense of my statement..a wise fellow came to my rescue..he said to him.."AREE understand the feelings man..!..he means they will be coming back pretty soon..by this he means, he thinks, he is getting a supple..!!"..and i thanked that wise soul with all my heart..
well..one thing is very clear..after completing four semesters successfully..that this pattern of examination is just too old..I mean I don’t see a point in teaching us students for one whole semester..around four months..and then test it all in just three hours..I mean how can it help us anyway..maybe..I as a student, is more profound in some part of a particular subject..and not so good in the other parts..what if the question paper was such that it doesn’t include any question from that particular part..which is a very possibility..because..it’s not possible for the professors, to include questions from every part of the syllabus..so if that happens..then my examination will not be that good..n it would directly imply that i m not a sincere student..
well..it’s just what I think..maybe many other may disagree with me on this..or maybe I myself is wrong..but then as said time and again..there is always a scope for improvement.. :P
